As the Senior Designer – you will play a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction and design strategy across two brands.

Working closely with the Creative Director, production team, and other key stakeholders, you will lead the end-to-end product design and development process, from trend research to final execution. This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behaviour, and the ability to translate brand DNA into commercially successful, innovative collections.

The Role |

You will be responsible for managing the critical path, ensuring all seasonal deadlines and design objectives are met, while maintaining a strong focus on product quality, fit and profitability. Collaboration is key as you will liaise with internal teams and external suppliers, both locally and offshore, to ensure that each collection not only meets design and aesthetic goals but also achieves financial targets.

As a leader within the design team, you will drive creativity, foster innovation, and contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture. Your expertise will ensure that the brand continues to deliver elevated, competitive, and trend relevant collections that resonate with their target market.

  • Working in collaboration with the Creative Director and the Design & Production team to build and fulfil the seasonal direction

  • Provide seasonal research including colour trends, silhouettes, fabric direction, newness in trims and garment details, relevant to brand DNA

  • Creating, planning and executing the overall design strategy for two brands

  • Developing and managing the critical path, ensuring all key dates and deadlines are met

  • Analysing past season sales data and customer feedback to inform and refine future collections, ensuring designs align with evolving market trends and consumer preferences

  • Creating Seasonal Concept Presentation boards for each collection as part of Design’s presentation for each new season

  • Creating final weekly/monthly and seasonal range boards for presentation

  • Creating SKU efficient ranges, working collaboratively with the merchandise planner

  • Sourcing fabrics and trims as required

  • Establishing and maintaining fit criteria 

  • Creating technical specifications

  • Communicating with internal production team and local manufacturers

  • Communicating with offshore factories

  • Collaborate with CD on product costings to ensure designs are both commercial and creative

  • Approving lab dips, prints, and embroideries

  • Conducting garment fittings

  • Ensuring collections drive brand competitiveness, maximise sales, and achieve financial targets/margins, adhering to critical path deadlines and maintaining quality standards

  • Conduct market trend analysis and spend appropriate time in the marketplace to stay industry relevant and up to date on target consumer, retail environment and competitors

  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on trends, silhouettes, colours, fabrics, and garment details relevant to the brand, while continuously monitoring market dynamics and competitor performance to stay ahead of industry trends

The Skillset |

You will be an experienced Senior Designer who is skilled in both design and development and has experience with managing a critical path with offshore manufacturers.

You will have previous experience working within a size inclusive womenswear brand, with a particular understanding and expertise of plus size fashion.

  • Technical design ability

  • Proven experience working within a trend led womenswear brand

  • Experience with Adobe illustrator, Photoshop. 

  • Diploma or Degree in Design or related field

  • Ability to develop relationships with people at all levels within the business.

  • Ability to deliver against strict deadlines.

  • Enjoy being hands on, reactive and tactical in solving problems.

  • High attention to detail

  • Experience working with overseas factories ideally

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
