We are working with an independent Australian Fashion label born to inspire the modern woman in the lead up to their launch this year. This is a rare opportunity to join a startup women’s wear fashion brand and partner directly with the Founder to shape the brand identity.

The Role |

We are seeking an experienced Pattern Maker part time (3-4 days per week) skilled in digital patternmaking – strong level of experience in high end womenswear is essential.

  • Translate new designs into patterns

  • Prepare new patterns from design sketches

  • Ensure the design sheet is maintained with regularly updated information based on the design brief and pattern

  • Provide accurate yield estimates for each pattern

  • Attend fit session ensuring all changes that are required are accurately recorded and executed until the style is approved for range SMS

  • Provide all patternmaking information for tech pack, including the final update to design sheet, make sheets notes and size specification

  • At PPS approval stage ensure any changes to Tech Pack including design sheet, make sheets and specification chart are all accurately updated

  • Provide ongoing support to the production/ in-house sampling team as and when queries arise relating to pattern/ fit/ construction or quality issues

  • Ensure approved SMS samples are all measured prior to range handover meetings with Production

What are we looking for?

  • A skilled, experienced, and passionate pattern maker with extensive experience in designer womenswear

  • A background in high-end, premium Women Wear label

  • Technical knowledge of garment making and construction, including grading, marker making

  • Must be able to work from Design drawings and able to understand brand aesthetic

  • Well organized with strong interpersonal skills and able to collaborate

  • Skilled in Gerber, Style CAD or Lectra

  • Innovative and creative, forward thinker

  • Energetic, positive, can-do attitude

  • Have a love for elevated, modern, minimalist women's fashion

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on elevated quality.

  • Strong communication skills, in particular when working with offshore suppliers

  • Tertiary qualification in fashion design or relevant 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • A creative and collaborative approach to the role
