The Brand |
Our client is an Australian luxury fashion house that has experienced unprecedented growth on a global scale. Working in the Design room, we are now searching for an experienced Textile Designer to join their highly talented team.
The Role |
This role is a creative and technical position in the design team working closely with the Creative Director and Senior Design Directors on seasonal artwork design and development across collections. The position works collaboratively with design and is responsible for driving original and unique textile and print development in line with the brand aesthetic and the Creative Directors’ vision. This position will involve artwork design and development from concept through to bulk in line with the brand aesthetic.
Collaborate with Creative Director and design team on seasonal concepts
Extensively research creative ideas and provide input on the key textile design elements of each season in line with the Creative Director’s vision.
Creating original purpose-built artworks for seasonal collections
Ensure all artworks is created in line with the company standards regarding originality and intellectual property rules.
Technical preparation of artwork including creating artwork repeats and colour separations.
Complete placement print designs, engineering to pattern markers.
The Skillset |
Tertiary qualifications in Textile design
Previous experience as a textile designer
The ability to demonstrate outstanding creative instincts and a distinct point of view through colour, texture and patterns.
Have strong design and communicative skills.
Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign skills.
Immaculate attention to detail.
Knowledge of current design trends, industry developments and new textile processes
