A Note From Our Founder On 6 Years Of The Talent Mill

This year in typical fashion has flown by! So much so that October came and went along with our 6th birthday at The Talent Mill.

Such is the nature of recruitment that we are on the go 100% of the time, I don’t often get time to take stock and think about all that we have achieved since The Talent Mill started all the way back in 2018.

What started as me, myself and I – with a client roster of none, has grown into a highly talented, passionate and committed team of 5 and we have had the honour of working with over 90 clients and thousands of candidates across Australia and New Zealand.

I am still so thrilled and thankful every time a new client chooses to work with us, and I am immensely proud of the relationships that have continued to strengthen over the 6 years we have been in operation! I love recruitment, simply because I love working with people, I love the rewarding feeling of knowing I have played a role however big or small in supporting someone to find their perfect team or dream role. Even after 15 years in recruitment – that feeling never goes away!

I never intended to hire a team, I was chasing a life that was designed by choice, that offered a lot of flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere. But while entrepreneurship can be exhilarating, rewarding and so fulfilling, it can also be incredibly lonely when there is no one to share the lows with (of which there are plenty!) so I am so excited to reflect on our team (past and present) who genuinely care so much about our clients and candidates, and of course our business.

There is always much to learn, and so much to improve in business, and as long as we are consistently evaluating ourselves to identify where we can be better   - I know we will continue to thrive.

The one thing I have long wished for during this journey – was that I had started it with a business partner - and today I am so excited to formalise the appointment of Lucy Kesselschmidt as a Director of The Talent Mill!

If you have worked with Lucy you will know she is an incredible talent, one of the hardest working professionals I have worked with, and her recruitment journey in two years has been so inspiring to watch! Coupled with our incredible team – we are so excited to continue to grow The Talent Mill so that we can keep doing what we love and doing it well – supporting incredible fashion talent into dream fashion roles!

Thank you wherever you joined us in the last 6 years – and I am so excited for what is to come!
