Production Manager

The Brand |

This Sydney based fine jewellery brand specialises in diamonds and has been spotted on some of the biggest celebrities in the world. Over the last 7 years they have built the brand to include a high performing retail boutique and a growing online channel, with a global audience. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the newly appointed GM and Creative Director and manage the development and production of their stunning lines!

The Role |

Engaged in the creative element, ensuring the high quality output of the jewellery while managing an offshore manufacturer and an agent.

  • Negotiate favourable trading terms with existing vendors

  • Negotiate cost prices for all raw materials to meet agreed margins

  • Oversee all production related tasks - manage and maintain all timelines including production schedules for stock and bespoke orders

  • Responsible for quality control of all products

  • Analyse existing product lines and seek ways to improve efficiency and margin gains

  • Manage workflow between sales and marketing teams

  • Create quotes for bespoke pieces on request, sourcing and negotiating prices and timelines that meet agreed targets

  • Oversee all customer repairs - provide regular updates to management on wip

  • Review and recommend price changes to management to keep the brand competitive across the market

  • Maintain certification and documentation for all relevant items eg. GIA, IGI Product Development

  • Initiate and lead the development of new fine jewellery designs, product extensions and accessories

  • Vendor relationship management including sourcing and onboarding new suppliers

The Skillset |

  • Bachelor degree or diploma in Jewelry Design, Jewelry Arts, Industrial or Fashion Design, or Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience working with fine jewellery

  • Experience working with jewellery suppliers / manufacturers

  • Manufacturing knowledge of jewellery and/or other related industries

  • Experience with interpreting CAD or technical drawings. CAD drawing experience is desirable but not essential.

  • Formal creative design training and experience, with high degree of aesthetic sensibility

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong team player with a high level of professionalism

  • Ability to adapt and meet urgent timelines under high demand conditions

  • An open mind and a willingness to learn

  • Attention to detail and drive to manufacture high quality jewellery
