Production Manager

The Brand |

Our client is an established textile company that is a trusted support to major retailers in Sydney and Melbourne, they have been established for more than 50 years. They source, develop and supply high quality textiles and garments to a wide range of brands.

The Role |

Working closely with the Sales team, and reporting to the Founders – this role will have broad accountability across production and logistics ensuring the business meets its obligations around the critical path management and timely delivery of product to clients.  

  • Initiate and nurture the development of professional relationships with target clients.

  • In consultation with selected clients, develop garments according to their design briefs, coordinate meetings with buyers, finalise costings, and negotiate bulk garment orders.

  • Communicate with suppliers and clients in relation to the sourcing, design & construction of garments.

  • Liaise with industry participants to develop an understanding of the financial position and business philosophy of target clients.

  • Interstate travel to develop sales opportunities with target clients.

  • Overseas travel to source garment styles, fabrics, garment factories, and in the early stages of the business to quality control garment production.

  • To develop and implement internal systems to manage the development & submission of sample garments, to monitor the compliance of suppliers to agreed standards, to ensure the accuracy of costings, to control the critical-path of garment production and the meeting of sales budgets.

The Skillset |

You are an experienced Production Manager with at least 5 years experience in production – you are highly skilled in negotiation with suppliers and understand just how valuable these relationships are to the success of the business.

  • An understanding of garment construction

  • A background in apparel production  

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)

  • The ability to work to a timeline and adhere to deadlines

  • The ability to work autonomously and have a high level of organisation

  • The ability to follow quality systems and procedures
