Our latest client launched this highly successful contemporary designer label 15 years ago in Melbourne and has experience unprecedented international success! Collections that have been developed with a focus on skilful construction and a focus on developing untold levels of confidence in women.
They have grown into a modern brand with a global following and have now moved back to their founding home of Melbourne and are looking for a Designer to join their team. This is such an exciting time as they look to expand with an additional two product lines alongside of their exceptional mainline collection. You will work to support the Head of Design and Senior Designer in the development and management of product collections.
The Role |
Support the Head of Design in developing and executing a strategic vision
Help and contributing to the management of design direction from conception to final
styling, including contribution to the selection of fabrics, trims, silhouettes, lab dip colours, print strike offs, and patterns
Assisting with the whole range design, across all categories, womenswear in both woven and knitwear in line with the creative direction of Head of Design and the designer
Helping with the line sheet development and presentation materials for strategy reviews including trend, colour and fabric boards
Monitoring and follow up the sourcing and development of fabrics, embroidery, trims and sample requests with external vendor/factories
Attend all fit sessions from first fit to production samples’ ensuring that product is technically executed to the highest standard and of commercial fit
International Travel as required, either for visiting the factory or supporting the sales and Head of Design for overseas sourcing, development and research trip
Strong communication skills with factories to achieve positive results in the development phase
The Skillset |
3+ years minimum womenswear industry experience in high end fashion
Knowledge on seasonal trends and market responses
Strong technical knowledge of Woven and knitwear construction and materials with strong colour and print sense
Willingness to Travel Internationally as required
On-site working arrangements
Strong Communication and interpersonal skills and range development experience
Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines
